What is the best time to visit Gir National Park? +
November to March is the best time — weather is cool, wildlife is active, and vegetation is thinner making sightings easier. Summer (March–June) is also good for lion sightings near water sources. The park closes June 16 – October 15 for monsoon.
What should I carry on the safari? +
Carry your original ID proof, comfortable earthy-coloured clothing, a hat, sunscreen, water, binoculars if you have them, and a camera with a good zoom lens. Avoid perfume and bright colours as they can disturb wildlife.
